Not backing up anyone in the middle east but try looking at things from their prospective. Imagine American Indians coming to your house and telling you that you have to leave and the land your on was once theirs, hundred of years ago and that it was promised to them by their Gods. How would you feel. Now Imagine Canada backing the Indians and helping them out. That's whats happened in the middle east in the 60's. People there are pissed off they were thrown out of where they used to live. The history explains the negative perception of Jews.
The sad part is that there does exist a double standard on both sides. Just ask the British Historian who got 3 years in prison for downplaying the Holocaust. I'm not advocating everything he says but getting jail time for downplaying the Holocaust is extreme.
My great uncle was a very religous man (English) who at the beginning of WWII due to his beliefs, refused to kill anyone and requested medical corps duty where he could save lives, not take them. This was in 1939. Spent until 1944 rotting in a British dungeon, in what some have told me was worse conditions than the pow camps... In 1944 they emptied the prisons before Normandy and made him a medic...
Got 4 medals for bravery before the end of the war....

That sucks what happened to you uncle. Getting thrown in jail for religous beliefs is insane. A lot of military people here in the US who are SDA Christians enlisted durring WWI, WWII and Vietnam went in as medics. Their beliefs prevent them from killing people.

I agree, but I'm not going to tell Austria what to do. Unless of course they became a threat to us like the Middle East.
