I stopped reading the SE's thread when it appeared the thread was talking about the plot of the movie and I didnt want to ruin it for me.
I'm just curious - did the people who did NOT like Reloaded like the first one? I really liked the first one (one of the best) and am curious if the people who didnt like the second were fans of the first...?
First one was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Second one was a fuckjob by the directors. Just like most sequels where they try to sell you on mega special effects, and they fuck with the storyline and try to make it too over-the-top and end up creating a visually stunning movie with little substance. Just like the Star Wars sequels, and just like many other sequels.
Weird, I hated the first one. Might have alot to do with the fact that I had a terrible migraine and was just waiting for it to end. I didnt want to see the second one, went unwillingly. Expected the worst, had a migraine again, couldnt wait for it to end, but I liked it.
I have to go back and watch the first one to put it together though. Atleast on a level thats deeper than just the superficial movie.
I have to admit the first one was great because it was so ground breaking and the second one basically is extended sequences of what made the first one succesfull.
I wont give any spoilers, and I am not well versed on the original, but I think there may be some major twists coming up.
Good to know, although I'll still go check it out myself. Shame - because they had an amazing thing going with the first one. I didnt care for the "Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" looking previews - the scene in the first one was much better than the snippet I saw in the trailers.
