Hey I'm just catching the espisode where they tested the enzo, F1, Zonda, etc.

Some fancy shit for sure. And clinches my feelings that the F40 could be the most awesome supercar ever built.

I guess we know what day and time the US version will be on from now on. I wish the premier would have been tonight though.

Have they said anything about the US version at all tonight??

That sucks, from what I have read the pilot episode has been done since late November or early December and the original air date was late December or early January.

I wonder if the rehased UK version scored that much better than the US version that they decided to scrap the US version for the rehases?

I hope so, a "made for US" Top Gear would suck. You can tell that they have edited and re-shot some segments for these episodes as they talk dollars instead of pounds when talking about the car in studio.

Well I think it is all going to depend on how much influence the sponsors are going to have. If Dodge wants a one hour show done just on the Caravan well we might just get it and people like Schill might be entertained but the rest of us are SOL.

Here is a link to the article that talks about the US version of the show.

http://www.finalgear.com/news/2005/1...-usa/#more-226

Oh also this Sunday they are having an Olympic special where they do events related to the winter Olympics with cars.

I dearly hope they stick to their guns, last thing we need is another "test drive" which is nothing more than a fancy infomercial for expensive cars.

I just wish the editing of the UK version was done better, to those of us that watched the original airings of the shows it is horrible. IMO some of the best segments they do on that show include the news and the star in the reasonably priced car. If they went to all the trouble to reshoot the intros they could have at least redone the star in the reasonably priced car, hell some of the "stars" they have had on the show are Americans.

Then again how many of the people that watched tonights episodes have watched the originals.

Yes im REALLY surprised they didnt bash the GT like they do every other american car on that show, the guy actually said he was one of the 28 people who were lucky enough to buy it...really didnt see that coming out of them.

and I may be wrong, but im pretty sure the lightning doesnt have the exact same engine like he claimed...
