just purchased a new digital camera..

After doing some research I found a nice Camera...

It's a Canon G-3. I would say it's the top of the line except for the really professional stuff.

I also purchased a photo printer... a canon s9000.

I saw a demo print and pics look as good or better than from the lab.

I should get my order in soon so I will post some pics.

I got the stuff from a place called buydig.com prices were better than anybody I could find.

I don't remember the model number but I got a little teeny Cannon, metal case, optical zoom, 1600x1200 res, 128mbit CF card for $350. The beauty is it's smaller than my cell phone. Fits in a pocket no problem and you hardly know it's there. The pics are fantastic too. Great for a vacation, carry it around with you anywhere.

I've had the Cannon Power Shot S40 (4 Gigs) for a year now and I've got to report that it's superb! Easy as hell to take photos, make that excellent photos (and I'm a TRUE camera amateur) and it's got enough features to go "pro" if you want to go that route. Costs about $550 these days I think. Downloads directly into my PC via USB.

I also have the Canon S40 and love it. I've had all the Nikon Coolpics starting with the 800 (the 850, the 900, the 950 and the 990!) and switched to the Canon because of the sliding lens cover and ruggedness of the camera.

For photo shoots I use a Nikon D1X and a Nikon F5. I rarely use the F5 anymore and am not sure if I will.

For point and shoot, I high recommend the S40. The S30 looks just as nice with a little smaller image (3MP) and a cheaper price tag.

I just purchased the HP color printer that lets me plug in my CF cards and view the images on a screen, make adjustments and print - all without a computer.

I have the canon Elph S200 I bet that's what you have Eric.

Smoke, I'd reccomend this one, not big, comes with a rechargable battery and is small so you can take the thing anywhere. You can pick em up real cheap right now.

Those Nikons that twisted in the middle (well, 2/3rds). The lens was on one side the viewfinder on the other. You could hold the camera up high away from you (or low) and "twist" the body so you could see it.
