So I was Talking to an engineer in the heating and cooling division for damnler chrysler. I was told the Viper and the Vette are going under huge revisions in 2008. Around 600 horsepower out of the box. This same person could not tell me what was happening in 2010, but he could guarantee the viper will dominate all other companies. Including Ferrari. He did tell me the rumor was 1000 HP. Can anyone verify this? Or prove it wrong.
I don't know anything about vipers. I thought I could get this verified though you guys. That is why I came to this board. If you don't want to I don't really care. It's not like I'm ever going to be on these boards again after this.
Thanks, I'll remember that for next time. So, does anyone know? Also, he took a pic at work (he could be fired if it was posted) He wont even let me have a copy. But it was in a test cell, and It was a viper with at least 1 turbo that I saw. (passanger side under hood pic.) No stock viper ever came with a turbo right?

Hmmm... you are correct that no stock Viper has ever had a turbo. All the current rumors that I have heard either suggest a new Viper with an 8.4 L V-10 outputting around 700 HP, or a much lighter, smaller Viper with a smaller displacement Hemi V-10 outputting 650-700. The most disturbing rumors and thoughts are that it will be nothing more than a re-bodied Mercedes SL with either the 6.1 Hemi or the 3 valve, dual plug, supercharged Mercedes V-8.
Rumors are correct about the Ultra powerful uber-Viper. It has been testing for the past 9 mos. There are different talks on power output though. 600+ in some and 750+ in others. But it will be something we never thought an american sports car would be capable of pulling off for a true production vehicle.
