I've been looking at moving. I've narrowed it down to two areas.
Orlando Fl and Houston Tx. Weather is very important. I like to be out in the sun. I like to drive my Viper year round. What are the pros and cons of each city. I really want to hear from you guys who live in the areas.
I've also been looking into Houston. It seems that people either love it or can't wait to leave. It's been 0 here for a few days now and I see Houston is in the 60's and 70's. They also appear to give away homes down there. Houston also appears to have an active automotive scene with plenty of get togethers. Pros, cons, property taxes?
Houston has some problems with the roads , I used to live there. Pick another Texas city. Houston has good nite life , but the traffic and crappy roads are not very Viper friendly.

Houston,
BINGO! I was looking at housing prices. I've seen nice houses going for the 250-350 Range in the Houston area. Also the motor sports is nice. It would be great to finally be in the same city as a viper tuner (RSI and HMS) Then I can finally meet Greg Good and buy him a beer for doing a kick ass job on the heads he did for me. :thumb: Houston sounds too good to be true. There has to be a catch.
I would probably pick Houston over Orlando. But I would pick the Florida Gulf Coast over Houston.
If you pick Orlando the best areas are Longwood, Lake Mary, Oviedo and a few others. Generally the N.E. side of the city. The S.E. is not that great.
What is your profession?
Thanks Chuck. For the advice. I once drove from Seattle to Key West...I hated Miami. I was disappointed with Key West and drove to Dayton. That was much better. I currently have a timeshare that I rent out in Orlando. Very nice place.
Profession, Clinical Engineer, I do R&D on immunochemistry and automation equipment in the field(hospitals labs). My background is electrical engineering but, I seem to have become somewhat of a hardware guru. If you goto www.beckman.com and do a search for Access2,DxI,DxC and automation. These are the products I support.

Yep Property Taxes! Check the areas for different rates. Maybe some of the TX guys can help you out there.
there are more tuners in florida than anywhere. if your motor is 11.5 -1 how well will it run in the 100 deg heat in either city
Don't know. But I think it should be ok, I have a custom 3 core radiator and upgraded oil cooler. The car runs between 180-185ish when it's 70's outside. It's nice being at sea level with cool air.

In that case it sounds like Florida might be the place for you. Look into Sarasota. Lots of medical, lots of old people and lots of money in Sarasota. Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater is also good.
