Evolution anyone?.....a thought that came up as a result of that thread...

The other thread talked about evolution and what is known and not known....
please remember...these are my thoughts and again...not trying to push anything on anyone.

this popped into my head...

I guess the topic is about what we know..is it truth?, fact?, lies?, brainwashing?

What I do know is...

There is a big differences between "truth" and "fact"

facts being what is known at the current time...but truth is...what actually is or will happen.

simple example...

years ago people thought the world was flat. A fact of the time.

The truth is...the world is round.

We are basing our knowledge of the world based on what we think we know right now...but it's not really the truth as I am sure we haven't even scratched the surface on the "truths" of the universe.

will we every know the truth about everything? maybe... but not until we die and go where ever we go next.

Also....people can gain our knowledge from different places. Where we gain that info also will tell us is it real or false.

You can make a determination based on what the world tells you... what I call... eating from the tree of knowledge.

You can also make a determination based on "truth" or the tree of "life"
Some people call that "my gut tells me" or spiritual people may say..."the word of God tells me" (keep in mind that 'word" is not nessiarly the words of the bible but what you "feel" when you say..."God...what is the answer..and you listen for the answer" (I am such the nut aren't I [img]/images/graemlins/laughing.gif[/img])

Example...I was reading a article on a boy who Dr's said he would be retarded, never walk and basically be dependent the rest of his life.

His parents didn't believe what the "facts" or what the Dr's where saying. Their "gut" or "spirit was telling them...don't listen. (they were listening to "God" not the world) (eating for the tree of life vs. the tree of knowledge)

35 years later the little boy is now a Dr. himself that can walk and function independently. He also has an IQ of over 150.

So when I hear about Evolution ...I don't give the information much credit as I know most of it is not the truth. A lot of good interesting facts...yes.

All I know is that there is a God...He is everything...he made everything...everything is under his control. All is for a greater purpose or truth known or unknown. As long as I focus on Him...I will eventually know the truth or purpose of everything. I try to eat from the tree of life.

i focus on the big picture (God) and not sweat the details (religion)

No one knows the truth about the origin of life and whether God exists. There are just as many holes in religion's explanation as there are in science's story. maybe there is a reason for that. All I know is I have faith. I'll let the experts on both sides work out the details.

I sure as hell (topic related pun intended) don't believe my ancestors crawled out of the ocean. I believed it as a naive youth listening to those oh-so-intelligent high school teachers. But the older I get the more ridiculous it sounds.

To you, yes your god is the truth. To others, it's down right comical. But hey, to each their own.

Humans need to feel special and secure. The question is, are we natures greatest miracle, or it's biggest curse?

I say it's a case by case basis. I'd trade red5 for some glorious rocks. You can never have enough rocks.
