Remster - \"Lord of the Rings\"
I was going to ask if you ever sold the Ferrari boat, but I found the answer.
Livin' large during the dot-com era.

"The house had a professional recording studio, steam room, sauna, exercise room, elevator and a two-bedroom wing for a housekeeper."
At least something useful was put in that home. :thumb:

The driveway was sloped gently enough so he could drive down it in his low-slung Ferrari.
Must be a DotCom thing. This is from HighRoller's real estate summary:
The driveway is sloped sharply enough so he can attain terminal velocity on a bigwheel.

When the game was up, the investors took a beating. Stock worth $1,000 in March 2000 was worth only $2.67 by June 2002. The company once worth more than Boeing fell to the value of two Boeing 777s.
Allen lost an estimated $400 million when InfoSpace shares collapsed. Hess, 65, saw her $40,000 investment shrink to $1,450.
"I scrimped and saved for 42 years, and I feel that I have been duped out of my hard-earned money," she said.
Wow, interesting read here...

Wow, that's amazing. I'm not sure that even if I had that much paper money, I would have the balls to do that type of spending. Had to have been a phenominal time for him.
I lived through a similar time, but, on a much smaller scale. Thank God I don't like dolphins as much as Remy!

At the end of staff meetings, software engineer Jean-Remy Facq recalled getting so carried away with Jain's cause that Facq would jump up, shake his fist in the air and cry, "World domination!"
You really took the Lord of the Rings thing a bit too far, Rem.

Re: Remster - \"Lord of the Rings\"
From the reading a couple people got smart, got themselves demoted to get around restrictions and then sold tens of millions in stock at the higher price.
End of the day, the guy is sitting on major bank while people like Hess lost everything.

Restricted stock, Clint. Thing is, there is no restriction against a Hedge. I would have been all over that.... In fact, when I sold my company, I WAS all over that.
