I have one and use it often. Actually, I have that resort in my trade with RCI. Should you decide to get one, make sure you can trade with RCI on a points system. Find out how much points would it take for 1 day, etc at their gold crown or 5 star hotels/resorts and then compare it with how many days or weeks you would travel in a year and do that plan.
Also, make sure that you do not need to take a whole week at a time and you can reserve by the day.
Depending on the cost and availability to use when you want wouldn't it be better to save the money and rent a 5 star hotel 2 or 3 times a year.
You can rent a villa in many Mexico beach towns with cooks, maids, transportation much cheaper than owning a time share that may or may not have good dates left to use. This is if you go 2 or 3 times a year for a week at a time.
Then if you have plans on using the time share 5, 6 times a year or more and get a great deal on it that might be the way especially if good dates in the year can be had. I do know that you cant walk a block in Mexico without 10 different offers to buy time share.
Thanks. If you trade with one of the limited partners you use have to use an entire week and it costs day for day.
Before I read this this AM the wife and I talked and researched some stuff last night. For the Annual dues alone we could rent some pretty good houses in the area for almost as many "use days" and then I wouldn't be lock into their deal. I suspect once owned, you're owned.....and can't get rid of it.
It was a great place with alot of amenities and in our search we found we can rent rooms there also....LOL.
As you found out, any place that has timeshares will almost always have units that you can rent for about the cost of the yearly maintainance fee. It really makes you wonder what people pay the up front cash for...
