Am I Crazy???

Hey, I'm new to the forum but i've been lurking for months and I've finally made the decision to get a viper. So here's my situation. I'm about to spend my entire life savings on a GTS in CA, 2300 miles away from me (I live in FL) and I've never even driven a GTS or sat in one. Am I crazy?

btw. I have driven a 03 and 05 SRT10 Viper and I've had a 500hp Cobra so I do know how to handle a powerful car.

Not at all. The first manual car that I owned was my Viper, and I bought it sight-unseen and without ever having a test drive from Bill Pemberton in Nebraska.

Just don't be a dumbass when you get it and put it in a ditch/pole/tree/etc.

I bought mine off of ebay from Ca and flew in and drove it home...no regrets
But the whole life savings thing does bother me,depending on your marital status,kids,unexpected emergency funds etc..these cars dont often sell fast if you need to get some cash and you dont want to take a loan against it,imo wait to you build up 3 months of savings.There will always be another viper for sale possibly better.Good luck

that does sound kinda bad. let me rephrase. "my life savings" = "just about all the cash in my bank." I still have 150K equity in my houses if i need money, plus my weekly income. I'm married but no kids, not expecting any for at least a year.

Got you beat dude - I purchased my '04 SRT from Afghanistan (a few thousand miles away) in '03, without ever driving one or seeing one in the flesh.

So, I'm curious. If you don't mind saying, what's the year, mileage and cost? There is a 2001 GTS here in the classifieds for $45K abd has less than 20K miles. :thumb:

actually that's the one, CAP's car. But the dealer wants $48,500, not $45K. I was gonna try to get it shipped to me for $48500. Does that still seem like a good deal? an ok deal? or maybe a great deal?

That had to be the only SRT10 in Afghanistan. Must have been a big shot with the Taliban and had to get rid of it fast.
