Qatar pledges $100m, Kuwait $500m in Katrina aftermath.
Pretty decent of them.
# Bahrain: $5 million donation to assist with relief.
# Iran: Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza-Asefi said Sunday his country is willing to help, if "there is a need for such relief assistance." The aid would be given through the Red Crescent Society, he told reporters.
# Israel: Offers medical assistance, such as personnel, equipment and medicines.
# Kuwait: Government has asked parliament to approve an emergency aid package of $500 million in humanitarian aid and petroleum. "We as Kuwaitis feel that we must stand alongside our friends to alleviate this humanitarian hardship," Minister of Energy Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahd said in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency.
# Qatar: Offers $100 million to assist in the humanitarian crisis triggered by Hurricane Katrina.

It is about time some of those oil countries stepped up. Now maybe they can step up the supply of oil to our country so that our gas prices come down a little.

:tool:
#1 The actual supply of oil has little to do with gasoline prices. It's the perception created by the commodity traders that effects oil prices. 100 times more paper barrels are traded every day than there are actual barrels...
#2 Gasoline prices are much more dependent on refining capacity, which was maxed out prior to the storm where 8 were shut down (4 have come back on, resulting in the softening of prices the last day or so...)
#3 Read Matthew Simmons recent book Twilight In The Desert, the coming Saudi oil crisis and the world economy. You don't just open the spigots and produce a couple extra million barrels (Although the Saudi's are hell bent on convincing you they can).
Either you knew this and forgot, or your post wasn't very well thought out or informed...
