I like zombie movies. I'm trying to figure out when, if ever, the new Romero flick, "Land of the Dead", will be playing anywhere close to me. Supposedly it opens tomorrow. Bored, I click on a review, and find the objectionable elements neatly categorized for my immediate rejection. We have the usual suspects: profanity, nudity, sex, drugs, and violence. All the things people want to see, but pretend they don't.
But apparently NOW we also have the category "diversity issues" which carries this borderline-surreal description: "Strong female, minority and undead characters, socio-economic friction."
Oh, horrors! Strong undead characters! Worse yet, strong disenfranchised undead characters! Somebody call the Rev-a-rend Jess-ah Jackson (Undead Version).
