World Challenge at Infineon this weekend.....

.....it was HOOOOT and I mean HOOOOT . Got to the track wed. staked our claim in the Paddock right behind the grandstands, yeah primo spot. Six hours later we were booted beacause we were in a vender area, shit. Had to pit in a secondary area outside the main paddock, shit shoulda taken this as a sign of things to come. Problem after problem on the #15 GTS, splitter broke, dipstick plug came out, and much, much more.

Unfortunately the GTS was not competetive due to 30% restrictor plate and finished 18th. Met up with Mark and Matt Sat., nice guys, we watched the race together in the Corvette Corral and got to see the first new '06 Z06, pretty cool car. Right after the race I bolted home to unwind

Did Ron mention it was Hot? ...cause it was 103 I think when we got in the truck to come home. No way I'd want to be in a nomex suit strapped into a racecar that day, those guys were punished. But, no crashes and everyone stayed safe. Hopefully the #15 will be better sorted out by Laguna, but that restrictor almost makes it rediculous.

It was great seeing some old faces and meeting new ones. Thanks Ron for shuttling us around and hooking up the Corvette paddock. It was interesting to see the new Z06. Still not a fan, but definitely had to shield the "comments and remarks" while pretending to be one of the "Corvette elite". Especially when wlking by the vette with the lambo-style doors. Yeah, whatever.

It was unfortunate it was so hot and the GTS was so heavily handicapped. Glad everyone ran a safe race and hopefully John will have better luck at Laguna.

yeah.. it wasnt necessarily problems.. it was just that the car was never really sorted out.. so shit happened.

but we kept it out on the track running, and jd officially is off provisional and got his pro license, so it was what we wanted to accompolish.

it was nice meeting you guys and sorry i couldnt hang out as much as ron did, some of us were actually working on the car.

and right after the race i helped jd recover, helped load the car on the trailer, helped pack up everything, helped clean the pit up, helped drop off the car in san jose, then went home to unwind.
