Taleban Vows to Kill US Commando Missing in Afghanistan

A purported spokesman for the Taleban says Afghan rebels have vowed to kill a U.S. commando they claim to have captured, but the U.S. military says it has no information to support the claim.


The U.S. military is still searching for a Navy SEAL who disappeared with three other members of his elite special operations unit during a clash with insurgents in the eastern province of Kunar on June 28.

The U.S. military says two of the SEALs were found dead on Monday, and another has been rescued, but the fourth remains unaccounted for.

Last week, the purported Taleban spokesman said a video of the allegedly captured commando would be provided to news organizations, but that has not happened.
