I would love to hear you say something good about our military and our efforts in this war... This is part of your 'confrontational rehab'...

Just curious to see what good thoughts you have about your military... Seriously, not trying to pin you down, or set you up... I was just curious about the question I posed above and how you'd answer it...

I think the American fighting force is nothing less than spectacular, with a small handful of idiots who sometimes do stupid things. I put 0% of the blame for the mess in Iraq on the military. The blame is entirely on the politicians.

I'm fundamentally a pacifist, but I've always believed that the best way to maintain peace was to have the most powerful military on the planet. I don't believe that because you have the best fighting force, you must look for reasons to use it.

I've never believed that the military is inherently evil. However, power corrupts and the politicians who control the military are susceptible to corruption.

Thank you for that answer... Apologize - just trying to understand your positions...

I think I also did so others could see your answer.. No offense - but if I just looked at all the negative responses and topics you post - I'd say that you worked for an Iranian newspaper...

And you know I have nailed you on the head on several topics - like me saying, "you support the military unless we have to actually fight back" - so thought it was interesting to read that even though you were honest - it has a negative slant to a certain extent...

And if you look at what you typed - it started out great - and then that other voice took over and you spent the rest of it justifying your position...

I also knew that you would not mention anything about liberty, mass murders, be saved from a dictator, etc... And now that I think about it - for you to agree with any of those topics would mean that to one extent or another - that you'd stand behind a republican policy - and I knew you would never do that.

Anyways, thanks - now back to the mud...
