Apparently some of our boys were thinking the same thing we were and they tried to take approx $1 million home with them as a spoil of war. They were arrested by fellow soldiers....

thats fucked up.

You have to think what CENTCOM is trying to do though; they're trying to build a trusting bond with the US for post-war relations. Any action such as this would have major impacts on it's success. Definatley sucks though.

Do they deserve it-no. They are doing their duty and are actually getting paid pretty well for it. Imminent danger pay and family seperation pay just went up to $250 each. This is on top of their other tax-free pay.

No it didn't belong to them. It belonged to Saddam Husein. A war criminal who fled the country never to return. He left it there.
