New School Calendar Contains No Muslim Holidays

TOWSON, Md. -- The Baltimore County school system released its calendar for the next school year and one religious group is upset about some holidays that will not be given to students. :redbeard: :redbeard:

WBAL-TV 11 News reporter Jennifer Franciotti said the :redbeard: American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee :redbeard: has been working to get the county to add two Muslim holidays to the school calendar.

Franciotti reported the Festival of Eid earlier this year drew thousands for a celebration in Catonsville in January. It's one of the two most religious Muslim holidays of the year.

The school system will present the new calendar to the school board Tuesday night. Those pushing for the amended calendar have sent out a press release calling on members of the Muslim community to be at the meeting saying:

"ADC Baltimore has worked hard for the past 17 months to get the superintendent and the board of education to recognize the Islamic holidays equal to other religious holidays they have recognized. (again,

Our efforts have failed with the superintendent. However our resolve and belief did not."

According to reports, district officials said closing schools on Muslim holidays would set a precedent the system would have to follow for any number of other religious and ethnic groups.

Putting Muslim Holidays on the school calendar would make about as much sense as Texas schools putting Roy Rogers birthday on the school calendar.

If you put every holiday for every nationality and religious group on the calendar the kids would be in school on 4 times a year.

Fuck the muslims, shall we have a Satanic Day as well? It is about power, that is all....guess what they can eat sand. I could give 2 shits about religous holidays. Pick one day and call it Religious Day to satisfy the minority camel humpers. At this point it is more tradition than religion.

I am all for getting rid of all religous holidays, fuck them all. Bring in Festives!!!!!!
