It's spring time and i need to wash and buff the viper.
After seeing snakebitten's car i realize that i got to do something more than just the 5 minute slathering on wax and 10 minute's of wiping it off.
so... I saw confrontational random orbital buffer. Anyone know a good brand of these? I need to go and buy one.
I'm planning to do the whole 9 yards of washing, claying, waxing etc.
If anyone has suggestions on how to treat a red RT/10 to make it look it's best, please let me know!
1.) I thought you had mexican for this
2.) You need to send Jamie an email... He has a red 99 - and swears by certain scratch removers and waxes...
3.) What makes my graphites shine does not work as well on his...
I managed to get a few new items over the winter - so now have buffers and polishers that run off my compressor... I've only used them on my truck so far...
When I get a chance to look at the place I bought mine from - I'll PM you a link...
Be careful with air tools. Some of them are direct drive and may burn through the clear coat. I use Porter Cable random orbital with pretty good results. This is very fucking pathetic but I concede that Zaino has worked the best on my cars. I clayed the Viper over the winter and used Griot's Garage polishes and Best of Show wax and it didn't look nearly as good or last as long as Zaino. I'm stripping this shit off in the next few weeks and reapplying Zaino. Pain in the ass to work with but results are pretty good.
I have the same project. I've already followed SB's thread to the letter and have a large box of stuff in the garage waiting for me, along with a new PC orbital. I will post pics before/after when I get it done.
Buffers make me nervous. I've seen way too many dark colored vehicles with aweful buff marks when parked in the sun. Is there any way to get rid of these?
I've always done all of my cars by hand out of fear that I would do permanent damage with the buffer.

The reason for the swirl marks is that the person used a course compound and didn't know what they were doing, there is stuff called ebony swirl remover to take out the swirl marks.
