What kind of motor is in my Chevy S10? I haven't changed the oil in 120,000 miles. I changed the plugs after 85K and it ran like a brand new truck, even though the "check engine" light has been on for about 60K.
I've got a 2000 Dodge Minivan with a 3.0V6, with only 62,ooo miles, and it already needs a new motor !!
This things also got bubbling through the paint on the front edge of the hood. What a P.O.S. !!!
"Buy American" ?? I sometimes have to ask........ Why ??
You aint seen nothing yet. Just wait for..........
the hood release lever to break off in your hand
the starter to crap out
the rear ac & heater lines rot away
the rear wiper stops dead in the 12:00 position
the tranny to stop working
the power window track breaks
serpentine belt idler pully bearing goes
the c/v joints go bade
the emergency brake cables freeze up
the pop out window mechanisms go bade.
I could go on & on, but you get the picture. I speak from experience.

You obviously had an AS body van, he is speaking of an NS body.
A. the hood release handle don't break
b. the starters only puke on the 3.3 and 3.8s
c. under body lines for heat and a/c don't rot out anymore, just the compression clamps, easy fix.
d. rear wiper motor very good, never replaced on.
e. tranny, o.k. ya got me.
f. doesn't have tracks for the windows anymore, cables to break.
g. the idle pulley bearing doesn't seize, the pivot arm seize, design purchased from GM.=
h. c/v joints don't go bad, the axle shaft breaks.
i. e-brake cables only freeze if you don't use them
j. quarter vent window motors in good shape, never replaced one.
I speak from experience, the '96-'00 NS bodies were much better than the '91-'95 AS bodies. I not only service them but I own one.
You're fuckin in denile. Dodge stuff is SHIT..absolute SHIT. I'd rather drive a kia than a neon that how shitty their stuff is.
The North american stuff has always been crap, the japanese are just that much better. If you want a good minivan get a Honda or Toyota.
Go home please.Who gives a flying crap what you think. It's the alley and I guess you love following my post. Freedom of speech. When I need your 2 cents on my post I'll call for you.Now fly away.
Mitsubishi is known as the WORST japanese car maker going, they always have been that's why DC owns them.
The only American car I have is my Viper.
It has been my experience that after 60K miles on a newer American car you need to get rid of it and get a new one. If you want American cars then lease and flip every two years or buy japanese and drive the car for 10 years and finally get a tune up.
I had neighbors that bought a new Chrysler Town and Country van the same time we bought our Honda van.
So far after 40K miles they have had a bad front end (recall) transmission problems, driveability issues.
I have had to change the oil in our Honda.
Sorry for not buying American but I can't afford to take a chance on American reliability and quality. I think the only thing we as a country make well is trucks.
As soon as an American car (daily driver) can show me Honda reliability and it fits my family needs I'll buy American.

'93 Grand Cherokee 135000 miles no, and I mean no problems.
'85 Cherokee 85000 miles no problems.
'89 Comanche 90000 miles no problems except rust from an accident.
'87 Lebaron GTS 79000 miles rust in floor pan and leaking turbo.
All cars I or my dad have owned.
In my opinion a lot of the reliability comes from maintenance and catching problems before they develop. Import manufacturers have their customers trained to bring their cars in for regular service, at which time they can inspect everything and catch a problem early and fix it without causing inconvenience to the customer. I have worked for the imports and there is a world of difference in the way the cars are maintained. The customer are told from the time of sale "you must follow the maintenance schedule or else". I have seen an import or three denied any warranty service because of a couple missing maintenance records. Domestics just roll over and pay.
When I worked for Nissan, the average maintenance bill at 30000 miles was $600 and at 60000 it was more like $1000.
We have a Lexus and Ford dealer next to us, owned by the same outfit, the Lexus dealer is the only one of the three of us that is consistently busy. According to the techs there it is mostly warranty work and no charge scheduled maintenance.
What planet are you on Craig and did you read my post:
The motor is J-A-P-A-N-E-S-E!!!! Mitsu makes the motor.
Oh, and you kanuks painted and put the car together.:thumb: :thumb:
Anyone who knows anything in this industry can tell you that mitsushitty is probably one of the WORST carmakers if not the worst in the industry, their only saving grace is the EVO.. a car that they did right.
If they had such a great product they wouldn't need to slap on a 10 year warranty to sell their mainstream crap. Shit the companly likely won't exist in 10 years.

Just what I have seen
That's quite the collection of absolute shit you guys have owned. You must have sold many extended warranties to buy all those examples of automotive perfection.

I am glad you like them Craig, and enough with the extended warranty bullshit, I don't sell them. I leave that shit to the f&i guys.
I know that Mitsu sucks, but Jap none the less, can't just generaize Japanese and American, that was my point with that.
