Today, after a local Car Show (I am sure the last one around here, as we are suppose to have "Snow Showers" this Wednesday) I stop by the Local Ford Dealership. I had yet to have an up close, look, touch, sit inside of the New Mustang. For some strange reason, Ford is only making and selling the 6 cylinder models. So, I stop by to check it out. I am checking one of the three out, which they got in yesterday. Suddenly, I see it. The new wheels look nice, but slightly cheap looking, like a $50.00 Whore. The Caliper behind the rear wheels look like, some dumb-ass kid bought wheels but they would not clear the calipers. So, WTF, it looks like some "kid" took a hand grinder to the caliper to clear the wheel. The Calipers have "Huge" grind marks on the calipers. Looks like shit and a very half-ass job to say the least. I mean, how can some engineers Fuck-Up, so bad that the only cure is to grind off a "big" hunk of the caliper. Stupid and half-ass looking. LNS quick question.I was looking at your car. You said the best the car has done with all that work is 12.05 in 1/4 mile? You sure you got those numbers right? Also the horse power you said 393?? Just curious what you ran with S/C ?

Ah...Phil, I was sitting in a V8 Mustang GT yesterday. And I will say I was impressed on how far Ford has come with their quality. (did I just say that?)
This car did not have the crappy gaps in the body panels, and not 1/10 the amount of orange peel in the paint as most Furds do.
I saw nothing like you saw. But I did see the V6 base model has some "knock off" wheels on it.

Hey now, guess you missed my post about this in the Garage? It would make a nice cheap DD.
it would be in the casting, all of them are like that.
I should have got some pics, I will try to get some pics tomorrow. However, rubbing your fingers along the "grind" is very rough and looks like shit.
Jerome, you are correct about some of the other workmanship. My 03, Cobra interior feels tight inside like the Z06 was, but the New Mustang is "big" inside and yes, it does not look as cheap as mine of course the "New" Mustang is Retro looking, when they had interiors that looked like something.
Monday, I will be installing Baer EradiSpeed Plus Brake Rotors and Hawk Pads.
I like the New Mustang front, but the backend lacks something.

Yes, My Dear BV, but the car has much more potential than I have been able to unleash. Skill has everything to do with it. No matter what you put into the car if you are klutzy and spin tires you'll never make the times!
David Weaver ran it for 11.75 in the quarter, and said it could run low 11s. That 393 is the stock dyno before the Roe SC. It is much stronger now, closer to 600HP after the mods.
I haven't had it back on the track for some time. Had to relocate this summer and am just now feeling like I am settled! Nice to be back!!
You wouldn't be the typical Mustang owner, you have to admit that. Hell, if more people like you had them, the "out-of-control-foamin'-at-th'-mouth-kid-owner" reputation may change!!

For the worse?
I was driving around a Ford dealership today, and my 18 month old was a big fan of the new Mustang. It's funny how a good design registers in the human brain at some fundamental level.
