GM doesn't offer the diesel in 'burb or else I would.
Sorry, I knew that they use to. I could see no need for a 4.10, as I have always pull everything but the world with 3.73 or less. Shit, my first diesel, Dodge Cummins, one ton, I used for 2 years with 3.06 or so with a automatic.
10,300 lbs vs 12,000 lbs towing capacity. I just saw a picture of my friends boat with his Avalanche. I don't think I'm willing to tow it at all now so it's probably a moot point. Hot dam the thing is big

All those greenies and tree huggers that sit home all day or worse yet chase boats around the ocean in other motor boats (anyone else see the irony there?). Christ, they could alleast grant me the courtesy of a reach around while shoing this shit up my ass. :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist:
My old dually with the 8.1L got 8.5 in town and 10.5 on the highway empty. Chevy does offer the Duramax in the 2500 Sub, which I'm guessing you have if you got the 8.1L. The worst mileage I've seen with my new dually with the Duramax was 12.5, but that was towing a 44ft car trailer full of hay, 16200lbs, though the mountain. Usually get 15-17 empty.
Chris
They do NOT offer the diesel in the Suburban. If you want one, and you're anywhere close to Texas, let me hook you up.
as a reference my '05 6.0L 4.10 2500 HD got 12mpg on the first 2 tanks of gas. the 1st tank was in town.. the 2nd tank was spent towing... so dont expect much more than 8-10 i'd say.
After this thread, I looked up the price on the diesel Excursions. They ain't cheap for what you get--probably 46Kish for a nicely equiped diesel version, with an MSRP 6-7K higher.
