Hey guys just wanted to thank everyone for there help this weekend. You guys are great. Special Thanks goes to none other that the
2 BEST CREW MEMBERS THIS SIDE OF THE MISSISSIPPI!
Joe Bergante Crew Chief
Luc Noel Team Manager
These guys put up with more problems than most people could deal with. I could not ask for better friends in this world. We stuck together on every decision, some were harder than others but we made it through to at least the start!!!!.
And to everyone one the board that pitched in and gave our group a hand. It means alot. I could not have done it with out you guys and gals.
It was amazing to see so many people I knew and new faces too.
It was a challenge this past week trying to keep the car together. I think I had 11 laps in 4 days in the car. I guess thats racing.
I will be building my car for next years WC schedule so something like this does not happen again. So if your from Florida my goal is to be in the first GT race next year!!!
Let me tell you guys...It is incredible to be going in to turn 2 at Laguna.. right in the middle of the pack..bumping to keep your position looking left looking right. Wow what an incredible feeling. Now if I could just run the whole race!!! I cant even explain how disappointed We all were to end up with that kind of result.
I got a great start when we went green...I looked to my right in time to see the Volvo at a 45 degree angle on top of the corvette. I look to my right again and see the caddy trying to drag race me into turn 2 I beat him to the corner but he out brakes me and takes the inside, which was fine by me I had a better opening in the middle and a better angle coming out of turn 2. Which set me up for turn 3( I jumped 8 positions by turn 3) We were 3 wide on the exit of turn 2. I look ahead and see Mike Davis sideways coming out of turn 2 then I notice the fire...I called Joe on the radio and told him "Mikes on fire" about that time oil came shooting out of the hood of my car covering the windshield... going into turn 4.
I could not see a thing. I didn't know at that time if the engine was going to go or if it was a less serious problem.
My issue was the filter on the oil puke tank came off
So since it was my first race I had to make the decision to 1, oil the whole track from turn 3 all the way around or pull off and not piss off the SCCA people.
So i started looking around and decided (because of my sponsor) turn 6 would be the best place to take the car off track......and put my car right SMACK in the middle of the camera angle!!!
Now my sponsor got some air time!!!!!
And my PMUM sticker got some air time as well!!!!!]
A win for our sponsor!!!!
I look at this whole weekend as a learning experience..one I wont forget.
Also the race is being re-broadcasts Thursday at 0300 in the morning which might mean Midnight California time.
I am looking for Sponsors for next year. I have already been on the phone with 1 other Driver trying to set-up a 2 car team. He already has the crew and transport Vehicle for next year........so We can use all the help we can get.
Thanks in advance!!
Again thanks for all the phone calls and everyone that came by to said Hi!!!
If anyone has any pictures or Video of the start, or of turn 2 turn 3 and 4. I would really appreciate a copy of anything you have.
