NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!! Just because y'all are 'necks, it does not mean that you can bandwagon the 'stros! I haven't a peep out of y'all all season long, but now that Hanoi Jane's team is about to get tossed, y'all jump on the bandwagon. Unacceptable. My boys might have lost to the eventual World Series Champions (the Cards), but I won't suddenly become a fan of the team d'jour (although I will be rooting for the 'stros or Cards to win it all).

Bandwagoners? Not hardly. I'm also a Cowboy fan and you rarely hear me talk about that. I've been an Astros fan since I was a kid. In fact, my family used to take our vacations in Houston timed with when they'd be at the Astrodome and playing double headers. We actually went to see them play the first season the Astrodome was open. Astrodome for the ball games and Astroworld the rest of the time. Having suffered through their horrible post season play over the years, it's really nice to see them win. I only wish Petit were healthy. Don't know if they will get past St Louis or not but at least they've made it to the NLCS and that alone is way cool. Cool to see'em win. (especially for Bagwell, Biggio and Ausmus)

Paul, maybe "Pettitte" is what you were intending to spell.
LMAO, sorry Paul but I had to take a stab back at you since you "scoreboarded" the LA 'necks this past weekend. In our fairness, you talked like there were more birds there this weekend than when we were there.
Don't worry boys, the 'stros are nothing that the Red Birds can't handle. While they were fighting us to the death at the end of the year, we had a 15 game lead on the bunch of old, overpaid fucks. No need to get excited about your series win over the Braves, your smiles will fade shortly.

Head to head the 'stros worked the red birds during the regular season.
You seem to be the only one in St. Louis with any confidence in your team. Check out the poll on bottom right of the Cardinals official website with over 50% picking the Astro's to win the series in 4-5 games.

Head to head, the record was 8-10 for the 'stros. I don't think I would call that "worked". Plus, the series near the end of the year didn't matter shit for the Cards, and everything for the 'stros. You're right, I'm the only one in St. Louis who has confidence in the Cards . I'll probably be the only one at Busch tomorrow for the game too. Fuck, I think internet polls should decide the outcome of everything. Afterall, the internet=reality.
Clemens and Oswalt won't be available until game three. This is definitely an advantage for the Cards. However, if Houston's bats are as hot Wednesday evening as they were last night, it won't matter much. Should be an interesting series. Did Houston sweep the Cards once or twice this season?

"A 4-3 Cardinals team met Houston at Busch Stadium in the second week of the season in a series considered a real test of just how good the revamped Redbirds were. They failed. The Cards were swept at home, outscored by a total count of 26-9. Yet a week later, they returned the favor at Minute Maid Park, taking three straight by a combined 19-10 score. Jason Marquis matched Roy Oswalt pitch for pitch in the finale of that series, in a game that ended up going 12 innings.
That was just the first of several great games between the division rivals. The next came about six weeks later, in the opener of another three-game set in Houston. Chris Carpenter outdueled Roger Clemens in another extra-inning affair, with St. Louis winning on a balk by Octavio Dotel. The Cards took two out of three in that series, which marked the beginning of their midseason charge.
With another series win, a week later in St. Louis, the Cards were taking off and the Astros were starting to stumble. They didn't meet again until September, by which time the Cards had all but won the NL Central. However, the Astros had also found the right track again, climbing back into the Wild Card hunt after being written off.
With the games meaning much more to Houston than to St. Louis, the Astros took five out of the final six meetings, including a sweep at Minute Maid Park after the Cardinals had clinched the division."
Bottom line: The 'stros won some games when we didn't give a shit!
