You start out with any number between 1 and 10. Then you double it..
So, 1+1 = 2
or 2+2 = 4
Now we ad 5 to this number
2+5 = 7
4+5 = 9
Then it's multiplied by 50. This is the key. When the 5 is added, it forces ANY combo of 2 numbers together to be odd, thus producing a x50 series of numbers.
7*50 = 350
9*50 = 450
keep the above in mind.
The part w/ the 1753/1752 is just the number sequence when the xx50 number is added, then your date of birth in xxxx format is subtracted, will produce the last 2 digits of your age. The last digit of xxx3 or xxx2 is used as the check digit.. IE if you were born already, the it would increase the age by 1, as were if it were not yet, it would subtract the age by 1.
This works by increasing the 175x number by a multiples of 100 and then the addition of 50 (which as you see above, it forces you too). The reason it's 175x is because all the year that could be entered start with 19xx. The lowest possible combo would yeild at least 300, which would produce a positive number (as subtracting 1753 - any 19xx number would produce a negative). So now, if we look at the first set of numbers as 17, and add 3.. we get 20. 20 - 19 is 1, which was the original number
Now, the 50 part of the equation, which we have shown is forced, created the age part. Adding 50 to the number 53 or 52 would produce 103/102 respectivly. Any number between 1900 and 2003 would subtract out evenly, and drop the last digit up or down, depending on if you chose 3 or 2..
Say I was born in july 79...
52 (as it has not yet passed) + 50 = 102
102 - 79 = 23

dammit MM, i figured it out, but you beat me to it. so for the sake of me looking cool, i'm gonna show you how i figured it out.
1. Call the number you pick x.
2. 2x
3. 2x+ 5
4. 50(2x+5)= 100x+250
5. 100x+ 250+ 1753= 100x+ 2003 (either of these two numbers
100x+ 250+ 1752= 100x+ 2002 (look familiar?)
6. 100x+ 2002 or 2003 - year you were born
= 100x+ your age.
