The lending company doesn't care what you do with it, as long as they get paid if you fuck it up. Hence, manditory deductable limits/coverages on loans. If you drop it, I think the insurance company has to notify the lien holder, and they of course would come to you for a reason.

non-operational registration with the DMV.. not licensed on city streets.. no tags.. wont be driving it on city streets, so why carry insurance.. not going to get hit by many illegal aliens in my garage.. and not going to be any any accidents.
and the lien holder can buy insurance for you to cover the loan (and only the loan, you still wouldn't be legal to drive) and add the cost to your loan.

thus the question.
They don't care where or if you drive the car - they want insurance as security for the loan in case the car is a total loss - including theft.

See above Like I said, they don't care what you do with it...mearly the fact that if anything happens to it, they get paid. The car is their security for the loan.

so... 'no'
Uh yeah and the rate which you get charged for it is nice as well, reaaaal cheap...cough
As for the accident will never happen, I am in the business of dealing with people who said the same thing and the accident did happen. Quit being white trash and get full coverage because you don't want to talk to someone like me when that accident happens
Case in point, insured has a restrictive policy, they never list all their residents and Johnny I just took my daddy's 2004 car and wrecked it and Exclusion ect ect ect applies. Daddy is now pissed because he owes $30K to the lien holder on an expensive piece of now lawn furniture or lawn art on wheels. I feel sorry for Johnny because daddy was pretty pissed. Also there is a thing calle dimplied permission and if it qualifies and results in a collision and you don't have collision, you are now a proud owner of the same type of lawn art in your backyard or driveway.
I see the 1%'rs all day, if you can take the same amount you owe on one role at the crap table and walk away when you 7 out then more power to you.
