The low-carb diets, high costs help drive baker to bankruptcy

CITY - Interstate Bakeries Corp., which makes Wonder Bread and Twinkies, on Wednesday sought bankruptcy protection from its creditors. The company was felled by the combination of increasingly health-conscious consumers and high operating costs.

We are not selling the pasta like we used to. In it's place we are selling lots of sandwiches, minus the bread. I don't know how anyone can do the no carb diet. I think I would die if I tried.

I ate at a Pizza joint in Monteagle Tenn. last week that offered pizza without the crust. I had to ask how that worked and they said it comes in a bowl...
