I just watched a show on HBO called "Nine Innings from Ground Zero". It was an extremely well made documentary showing how New Yorkers dealt with the tragedies of 911 while the World Series was going on in the background. Although the rest of the country was going through a lot with New Yorkers, this documentary put a different "human" side to the story and put New Yorkers center stage. Whats sad is that so many have forgotten 911 and its significance. So sad.

Amen to that. Look at the response count on this thread. *yawn* Like it was ancient history. It's even rolled into pop culture now. TV shows abound with characters spun out of the 9/11 tragedy, e.g., Rescue Me. Don't get me wrong, I like that show (NYC fire fighters, some of them fucked up by their experience from 9/11) but even so, it seems ... wrong. Wrong for that event to be merchandized in any way, even if the tone is respectful. I feel like it happened yesterday. Can't believe it's been three years.
Its bleeding heart hollywierd and idiotic liberals that are hurting America these days. These people are like fair weather freinds. Quick to waive the flag when its the "in" thing to do. However, they will quickly forget the reason that they are waiving the flag. Their love for their country is only skin deep and isnt there when it really counts.

Their whole way of living is simply a fantasy. How can these people get a good grasp on reality when it's their chosen path in life to sell us one decepetion after another?
i think that on election day we'll get to see that there are a lot of folk around who don't buy what the media tells them hook, line, and sinker anymore.... maybe it is just the few places I have been since getting here - but it seems a lot of folk I have met do care about this country, and recognize they have the right man for the job in power.
I am just an alien - but I'll never forget 9/11
I am often near the Naval Academy in Annapolis - and to see the contrast between the young people there to serve, and my home country where they buy into the liberal media crap - it is amazing.
If a nation can have a soul - America still has one.... distorted maybe, weathered over time, maybe - but it's the last great nation left to have a soul - the rest lost theirs a long time ago.
God bless America, God help all of us if He doesn't.
I watched it as well - great show. The tattered flag that flew above the stadium brought tears to my eyes. Most people don't even know that more people died on 9/11 than at Pearl Harbor.
People need to remember. They need to know that you can't just sit back and pacify these fanatics - they will kill you. The one thing the show did for me is to make me realize once again just how different we Americans are from the rest of the world. We are tough sons of bitches when the chips are down - and nobody better mess with this bull or they will sure as hell get the horns.
