We always hear how the Europeans hate us Americans, well maybe just the French. But I did not have any bad experiences just because I was American, except for this asshole at immigration in the London airport who gave me shit because I couldn't provide him with an address I was staying at in London. He held me for 10 minutes. I mean who gives a fuck where I am staying, it could be a hotel for all he knows, what does it fucking matter.
Whether the Europeans hate us or not they sure seem to embrace American culture. I heard a ton of American music being played and there didn't seem to be many movies in the movie stores that weren't American movies. They also seemed to love Nike what with all the Nike hats, shirts, and shoes everyone was wearing. I also saw a lot of people who probably couldn't read or speak English but were wearing some clothing or t-shirt with English words or American type words on it. As well as a lot of Europeans wearing American sports jerseys. It was all kind of funny.
I do distinctly remember walking by this bar late at night, well 11 PM so it wasn't that late, but anyways this French chick was speaking English to this apparently American male and saying stuff like you Americans are so arrogant and think you have the greatest country in the World, blah blah, blah. As we walk past another guy opens the window up above the street and says shut up you fuckin' Americans, I've got children trying to sleep in here. It was directed at the 2 people that were talking, but I being an American yelled up to the guy Fuck off you French fuck!!!!!!! Haaaaaaaaaa.
The tour guide in this old English estate that Henry the VIIIth used to live in let me sit in this 300 year old chair after she learned I was American. She said we don't get many American visitors here. The people in London were pretty cool and didn't have any disdain for me because I was American. In fact a few of them wanted to move to the US. The people in Paris were OK to me too for the most part except those fuckers who tried to take me for my money in the story I told here before. The people in Spain were pretty cordial to me too even though I am an American. So all in all it was a pretty pleasant experience despite what I was warned about beforehand.
But, it is great to be back in the good ol' U S of A!!!!!!!!!
