You may have to sign up to view (it's free) and it includes a video of the procedure. I think it is very interesting and could end the controversy of using aborted fetus tissue for stem cells.
I think I speak for everyone when I say WTF. Rock on Medical guys, some of this shit is just fucking amazing.
WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE!!!...but wait, didn't GOD forbid us to use stem cells for research? Too bad all those doctors are murderers!
I admit, I usually avoid stem cell research all together since the last thing I need is something else to argue about, but why would the doctors be called murderers?

FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG:
Stem cells can only come from a "fertilized" egg, that is to say an egg w/ a diploid numer of chromosomes (46), as opposed to a haploid (23). Sex cells, the egg and sperm, each only contain 23.
Therefore, you must have a diploid egg, fertilized egg or "cloned" (one with the nucleus from a somatic cell introduced into the egg). The doctors would be "killing" a "potential" human. Ergo they are murders. A little drastic for my taste, but I dont think it is right.
If you read the article, the doctors quoted mention that the stem cells came from the marrow of the patient. I didn't know it either, but apparently your bone marrow contains stem cells.

So like what type of plant can you get from these stems? Do they have seeds? Could that be the reason Foolie has been missing?
Four weeks after the operation, the man ate a German sausage sandwich, his first real meal in nine years. He eats steak now, but complains to his doctor that because he has no teeth he has to cut it into such small pieces that by the time he gets to the end of the steak, it's cold.
Maybe the woman who wrote in demanding government funding for dental treatment had stem cell treatment too - she wrote "My top teeth are fine, but the teeth in my bottom are hurting me terrible - please send money"

Actually stem cells can come from the umbillical cord as well as an egg so I guess you are wrong.
Stem cells are available in bone marrow but I would imagine its not as widely available to be used for study purposes. If bone marrow was of great enough supply to use it for research purposes there wouldnt be hundreds of thousands of cancer patients looking for donors who match their blood type. I;d be happy to give bone marrow if it could further someones life but I'd be more inclined to get that big needle in my back for a person rather than a research facility.
