If you play with friends is there a limit to the betting ?
I just bought a set of chips and want to have a game at my house,I'm thinking six guys with a 200 dollar buy in.That way the winner walks away with 1 large for the night.I would provide the food, the strippers and the contraceptives.
I think it is a great game. Me and 4 guys play ever wednesday, granted for a hell of a lot less then 200 bucks to buy in. Usually lasts 3 hours, aloting for dealer rotation, drinking and fun.
Truncated: The wicked witch is ont he clicker, lets see her make an ass out of herself again "I didnt say that"
Just returned from a game at work. Generally play wed and fri nights but had a random game. 12 people, $20 buy in and about 3 1/2 hours. Blinds starting at 10/20 and going up every 12 minutes and no rebuys. Good way to kill a few hours and a good take for the winner.
Blinds are great if you are paying attention. But if you plan on liquor and stripper, then they get out of hand and very confuzing very quickly. I do not recomend them.
Blinds are fine as long as you have a dealer chip although you can still forget to rotate it. Instead of winner take all I'd suggest one or two people (depending on the number) walk away even and the winner gets the rest. And with changing the dealers make sure every time you count the cards. I can't stand it when you're 3 hours into a game and it's all for nothing cause some moron "dropped" a card.
Some friends and I try to get a game of no limit, Texas Hold Em' every other Friday. It gets pretty crazy at times, alot of J.D. and alot trash talking can only lead to one thing, me winning. I don't wanna brag but, I am kinda awesome.. heh.
But seriously, we usually just play with anywhere from a 5-20 dollar buy-in, with around 4 to 6 people playing. We just do it for fun, more of hanging out of sorts than anything, but i enjoy it.
You have to have blinds in no-limit hold-em or it takes forever to get people out after the first 5 or 6 drop. It also helps deal with folks who never play unless they have A - K or real big pairs. With the blinds at least they have to pay while they sit and wait...
Best games are 7 to 9 people, whatever your table will hold. I've played with $20 to $100 buy ins. Every time I have played it is agreed that at anytime the remaining players can decide among themselves to split the money, even up. You should always have a second table for a little 7 stud game among the losers...
no it works out quite nicely. Anymore than 12 and we get 2 games going. It's always no limit, and blinds are a must unless you want a 5 hour game. After an hour when you have 100/200 blinds it starts to knock people out pretty quickly.
I play at www.pokerroom.com I started with $1K in play $$$ and am up to $200K, I do a few real $$$ tournaments but never did well
I play online regularily (www.partypoker.com). I mostly play $30 buy in tourneys, but sometimes grind the no limit tables if I have the time. This is a great way to make money online, there will ALWAYS be people that don't have good skill or make stupid calls for you to take money from online (especially in the low money tables like $2/$4 limits or $25 maximum no limit). I actually got most my money for my Viper with Hold Em.
Sometimes I have get togethers with friends or am invited to a few. Usually $50-$250 entry tourneys with 5th place or better getting money (3rd place or better if it's a small group). I'm not totally sure of gambling laws in texas, but I believe if it's a tournament that you don't use real money in actual play and it's in a private place (not publically displayed) then it's legal.
Friends and I play every couple weeks. We do $20 buy in, but allow re-buys. We play mostly just like the casino - blinds, and no limit. No sense getting used to a game at home and then seeing something different when you're in a real game.
What we do to control the bloodletting is to split your $20 into $10 in play and a $10 "reserve". You go all in with whatever chips you have but you can't touch your reserve until all your other chips are gone. This is basically just playing with a $10 buy-in and a $10 re-buy.
This past week, I had a killer hand - 3 of us left on the final round of bet. There is three of a kind in the community cards, a king, and some shit card. The other 2 folks had kings, giving them a house. However, I had pocket Aces, hahahahahha They bet hard and they went down hard!
People that are playing online...How are you making deposits into your account now? I used to play and bet on sports but it got to be too much of a pain in the ass to deposit money....Credit Cards just will not work anymore...
