Happens all summer long in Florida. And I mean just about every couple days. I've been here 26 years and the storms are still fascinating.

i had at least 70 mph winds blowing across my lake the other day. the 4 foot waves left my jetski sitting on the beach and my tube was a block away

ya but 99% percent of them are pulse storms and stay below severe levels. FL is actually the thunderstorm capitol of the world but I'll stick with the Plains.

And they're a bitch!!! The meteorologists I think just default and say rain each day, because even they have no idea what the hell the weather is doing...

The mets know what causes the FL thunderstorms its just not something they can forecast down to the hour. You have a large body of water that is constantly feeding moisture, combined with daytime heating even the smallest amount of instability will cause a storm to fire down there.. Sometimes just the outflow boundries from the storm the day before are enough to cause it..

This is my all time favorite storm picture.. This actually put down 2 tornadoes and did millions in damage with straightline winds in KS back in 01.

You rarely see storms like this in FL.. I'll stick with the plains.
