Never tried Tombstone. For some reason, those 88 cent Totinos cheese pizzas are my weakness. Throw some extra cheese on top, bake it directly on the rack, and it's pure comfort junk food. Kinda like Kraft macaroni and cheese and Jack in the Box tacos. They are NOTHING like the real thing but are a taste unto themselves.
Good God!! Is Cali pizza really that bad? Even the worst pizza shop (which are still good) are better than a Tombstone. Lots'a Italian's in Pittsburgh.
Tombstones are a last resort at 5 AM when you are drunk and everything is closed. Hell, I've nearly burned down my house a few times....
the best pizza i have ever had was a delivery joint from Chicago. i dont remember the name, but i had to stay the night in a hotel near the airport b/c i missed my connection, and i ordered the only place that would deliver. THAT was some good pizza.
now, i am comparing Tombstone to Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Domino's, etc. i think they suck.
PBG, i know exactly the pizza you are talking about. i bake it like you say, and drizzle ranch over the entire thing. grab my fork and knife, and i am set! damn, im hungry again.....

I'll give you the weather, though....
im from Texas. i dont venture out beyond the national chains, so i havent really found a great local place. there is something about letting the Tombstone cool off a little, and eating the whole damn thing. i dunno, call me strange....
For the "real thing", a thin chewy NY pizza, loaded with grease, you can't beat Reale's in Austin. That stuff is the best I've had since I moved to Texas from New York.

I heard that!! I had the best pizza EVAR in Chicago!
i think i honestly like Tombstone better than a delivery place. anybody else?
You been sucking in too many blades of grass? It may be as good as the shitty Kali pizza, but doesn't come close to NY style pizza
.
Amfuckingem my Long Island brother! Nothing beats hot pizza fresh from a NY oven. :thumb: I've lived a lot of places and pizza from the old Italian joints on Long Island is still the best.
DiGiornio is the best frozen pizza IMO. Their chicken pizza is soooooo good. Unfortunately, not a lot of places that will deliver out to my area, so Round Table with everything does the trick -- but their chicken wings are the best I have ever had from any pizza place.... mmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm!
