Between a BMW 740il and a Mercedes E55 AMG what would be the pros/cons, and typical issues with either. Both are 2001 models, black. BMW = 46k miles and AMG = 60k miles. Asking price for both are at about 39k. I realize the fun factor weighs heavily in favor of the AMG, but what about regular maintenance costs and reliability? Both have remaining warranties...what kind I don't know. The BMW, according to the salesguy, is BMW "certified," but it's not at a BMW dealership. I'm assuming they have a BMW dealership in their family of stores, and just brought it over to this particular lot.

If it where me, I'd take the benz. Yes it would be tons more fun. The BMW is nice, but remember it's not a 760iL(V-12)remember 740 = V8 from 540, therfore you'll never get top dollar for it. I haven't checked pricing but wouldn't the AMG be worth more then the BMW???

The Bimmer has 20k less miles. That could be a reason.

You think they'd take $30k?
