I'm thinking of buying a Red 2000 GTS from a guy named Cliff Martins from the New York City area. Anyone possibly know this guy or anything about the car?? He says he's overseas, and has to fly home to sell it. He's asking for deposit money before showing me the car.....and I WILL NOT GET HOSED!! Thanks for any input!!

Sounds like a scam, i would'nt fork over a dime till i actually saw what i was buying, unless it was from a reputable dealer like Woodhouse, ViperNathan, etc..etc..

The guy doesn't have a wife/friend/neighbor who could even let you peek through a garage window at it?
I don't think Vipers are so rare you have to buy one sight unseen, but you rich people do things differently so I guess it could be legit.

I recently posted about a friend who sold a $18,000 Rolex on eBay to an Italian guy. He suggested they used an escrow company - turns out the whole escrow company was a fake and she lost the watch. With the guy in Italy somewhere she lost the watch.
I would never deal with someone who couldn't be held accountable in an American court.
