This was the newspaper article. I believe it was either the LA Times or the Ventura County Star.

As soon as the car hit me, I was out. I remember waking up on the bottom of the cliff and taking my helmet off...thinking to myself, "Where the fuck am I and God I hope that I wasn't drinking tequila last night". The I looked down at what was left of my leg (it was twisted like a pretzel).

I've got pretty extensive nerve damage, so a 100% recovery is not likely. With any luck, I'll be walking unassisted with a slight limp.
