I wasn't even born yet! From what the history books have written, he actually did more good than bad...IE summits with China etc. He definatley was paranoid with his reelection, he would have been a shoe-in if it asn't for Watergate. I fucking hated his dog, Checkers. What a gay name for a dog.

Re: Richard Nixon

I personally do not know enough about him to make an official call.

I did hear he did some good things with China but other than that he falls in line with Clinton as a embarrassment to the office of the President.

Exactly. I wasn't being thought about either.

Re: Richard Nixon

Not a good pres. If you look at his record, many liberal polices were created and signed during his admin. Endangered Species Act, EPA, OSHA, Title 9, and then there’s his miserable management of Vietnam, but at least he finally got us out.

I’m not sold on the China thing. They’re an isolationist country anyway. Pretty safe bet to go over there and talk peace. Just like the bitch Hillary went over there to talk women’s rights when Middle Eastern women are walking around in berkas and getting their clit’s cut off.

Probably not as big of egomaniac as Clinton but pretty close.

Re: Richard Nixon

I remember Nixon well. Not a good president. Paranoid liar and criminal. He was effective in his foreign policy negotiations with other leaders because he was such an astute politician and a hard-ass. They feared and respected him as someone that nobody could put bullshit over on. That's about the best I can say of him. Not weak, not naive, very realistic about world politics, but NOT a good man and NOT a good president.

What he did to us with Watergate was unforgiveable, and it all but wrecked this country for several decades. We are living the reverberations of it still. Lack of faith in our leaders, disillusionment with the political system and voter apathy all stem from Watergate. We take our political cynicism for granted, but I'm here to tell you that it wasn't always so ... and you've largely got Richard Millhouse Nixon to thank for that.

Re: Richard Nixon

I was old enough to remember his resignation speach.... otherwise I do not have direct knowledge.

But I would comment if Nixon's transgressions were unforgiveable... then Clinton should have been "drawn and quartered" for his transgressions.

Although Nixon was dishonest..... at least he didn't do Monica Lewinski in the Oval Office!!!!!

You'll get absolutely NO disagreement from me! Clinton skated Scott free as far as I'm concerned. He should've been hounded from office the same as Nixon. Why the difference you ask? I'll tell you why. The liberal media was (rightfully) relentless in their investigative pursuit of the "conservative" Republican Nixon. Woodward and Bernstein, the NY Times, the Post ... all over him like a cheap suit. Where were they during the Clinton Fiasco? Gabbling fatuously about "the right wing conspiracy" and swooning over his glam glib socialite wife, that's where.

So why the hell are you guys supporting Bush? They both have the same way of going about their presidency: I don't care what the American people think because I'm gonna do what I want. Bush has even said outright that he doesn't care. For the people by the people my ass. I mean you guys claim to be so patriotic, but really you're just supporting the system fucking itself over.

In case you haven't seen the polls Ian, almost 70% of Americans support this action.

Get your facts straight and try a little harder not to be such a spoon fed dick cheese.

How the fuck old are you anyway? What kind of a historically impaired mongoloid would you have to be to make a statement like that? Jesus Christ not even the most brainwashed, hemp wearing, future IDF tar-patty of a Seattle resident would come up with a brain fart of that magnitude.

First of all, Nixon's "crime" hadn't jack shit to do with flouting public opinion and going it his own way. He was a sneaky criminal who broke the law in order to gain re-election. Secondly, you factually impaired punk, read ANY poll and you will see that Bush has the backing of the majority of the American people on disarming Saddam. The numbers run anywhere from 58% to upwards of 70% depending on the wording of the poll and the actual polling organization. At least do your homework fuckstick, before you come over here and insult us with your blatant ignorance. This isn't sophomore civics ... I don't have the time or the patience to school every nitwit who just bought his first nose-ring and tie-dyed KORN T-shirt.

How can you possibly see a parallel between Nixon who would do anything wrong to get re-elected and Bush who is doing what he believes is right despite how it jeopardizes his chances of re-election?

Congratulations, you just failed the tenth grade!

Re: Richard Nixon

Nixon sat and watched the Ohio state football game when hundreds of thousands of anti-Vietnam protestors were in protest outside. Bush said he didn't give a fuck what people said because he doesn't need backing to do what he wants. I wasn't talking about Watergate...don't worry Schuey I know all about that too. I mean I'm in Civil Air Patrol and I love my country, but I just can't support a president who's going to change the US's history for the worse.

PS- I'm not a little nitwitty punk with a KORN T-shirt

Again, 9/11 and decades of murderous terrorists has finally pushed us to pre-emptive strikes.

I will probably be reiterating that for the next 30 years and I won’t be phased when somebody else is tired of hearing it.

Well Roger Ramjet, Bush may not have everybody in the world behind him but he sure has the majority of his own country behind him. There are always people who would rather not take aggressive actions against tyrant dictators. In pre-WW2 times, Nevil Chamberlain appeased Hitler just like you and others want to appease Saddam. History now shows Chamberlain made a colossal mistake just as you are now.
