Prison fucking sucked...I don't even know where to start. Let's see....
Booking: I checking in at the jail at 630PM on Friday and was expecting the process to start around 7 or so...yea, right. I sat in the waiting room until 1030 PM. When I finally was taken downstairs to start the processing, they took my crutches away from me. I guess they could be used as a weapon or something. So there I am, hopping around on one fucking leg trying to get from place to place.
About 6 other guys and myself were stipped naked in the middle of a hallway, told to bend over with our asses held open and told to cough a few times. Real nice experience-bit I was expecting no less. Getting stripped down and dredding in the middle of a hallway was pretty embarrasing, especially with what my leg looks like and the fact I can't get off the ground without my crutches.
I was then put into a holding cell with about 10 other guys. The cell was about 8X10ft, so it was a "little" crowded. As the night progressed, more people were brought in (mostly drunks) and put in the same cell. At one point, there was about 18 people in the cell. We were literaly sitting and standing on one another. Don't forget, this is a general population holding cell that has been puked and pissed in hundreds of times. The place was fucking filthy. People would come and go, but the people that turned themselves in that night, rather than the individuals brought in off the street, were processed first. I sat in a holding cell for 27 hours. 27 hours of sitting on cold concrete, listening to all these fucking drug-acdicts stories about how the cops fucked them over or set them up.
When I first went in, I thought that I'd be stuck with a group of people that were in for lower level crimes, IE DUI, wreckless driving, shoplifting etc. Not so. At one point, I was in the cell with two rival gang members-fucking great. It took the Sherifs about five minutes to figure that one out. Can't you fucking read the tat's on the head and hands? -morons.
At one point, I was left in the cell with some crazy fuck that was in for attempted murder. I guess the guy has seizures or something and blacks out. Great, this was only his 10TH time in this fucking jail! WTF? I swear I was the only white guy in that place for a good 12 hours. Nothing but Chuluos, all tat'd out and throwing gang signs at the cell across the hall from us.
I was finally taken to a cell in the medical block about 945PM on Saturday. I thought to myself, this is cool, the medical block has got to be plush. Wrong. It was literally solitary confinement. The "regular" prisoners went to a quad that had a TV, a spring bunk, and books/magazines you could read throughout the day. I was literally in a cell with a piece of sheet metal weilded to the wall with a one inch thick matress to lay on, and a shitter/water fountain contraption. No pillows and a blacket that was so thin I've wiped my ass with things thicker. I pretty much crashed (freezing my ass off)for the rest of the night, but was awoken by some guy screaming "Help Me!", "Nurse" and "God help me!" at the top of his lungs. I really don't know how long he was screaming for, but he didn't stop until I was discharged at 7PM that night. This mother-fucker was SCREAMING! I was fucking disturbing. I found out later that medical block is where they take all the heroin addicts that are going through withdraw.
All in all, the booking process was the worst. There is absolutley no reason this should take over 27 hours to do. Being around gang-bangers, drug addicts, and peopel in for attempted murder was a real eye opener. The majority of the people in there were involved with hard-core drugs in one way or another, so that tells you what that path in life will take you. I've always detested drug users in the past, but now feel that they are complete fucking trash. Wasted lives. Two of the guys already had two-strikes against them and were looking at 20 years to life when they went to court. 20 years to life-talking about throwing your life away. And for what, just to get high, be known as a banger or to get some scank pussy for a few weeks? It was pretty conforting getting back into my civilian clothes, stepping into my brand new SUV, taking a hot-shower, and curling up to a warm piece of ass last night. If anything at alll, it definatley reopens your eyes to how good we have it compared to the illeterate, drug addicted fucks in the big house.
