Formula One on USA soil this weekend and...(updated...added video)
As of Wednesday night I am out of here through Sunday! And if anyone gets any ideas...the servants will still be in the house and they are armed and dangerous.
USGP at INDY here we come!!! :thumb:
Along with F1 there will be the Porsche cup and a BMW racing series. No Ferrari Challenge though.
For those of you that went to the pit walk through last year what time did you get there? We will already be in Indy Thursday morning and we are planning on leaving the house around 6:15 is that fine or should we leave earlier or later. Also what is the parking situation like?

The pit walk is from 8 to noon and I hear you need to get there early but who knows. As long as I can get a few good looks at the cars and knock off a few good photo's...thats fine with me.
The wife and I plan to hit the museum after the pit walk and then it's off to kiss the wife's hiney (and a nice hiney it is too) and hit the malls for the rest of the day.

Last year parking for the walkabout was a zoo. And they had almost no concessions open either. They say it will be better this year. I suspect that it will be crowded no mater when you go, but people did seem to move around a bit. So I don't see any real benefit in getting there real early. We got there at 9:00 last year and will probably do the same this year.

Alright I will keep that in mind we should only have about a 30 min drive from where we are staying. I still havent figured out if we are taking 465 to the track or if it will be better to go through downtown. I guess that depends on what time we leave.

During the F1 race on Speedvision this weekend, the announcers said last year traffic was backed up for miles at 6AM, and said that people ought to plan to leave a lot earlier. Never been there myself (probably next year I'll go), I'm just passing on what I heard...
I never have had problems with getting to the track...even on race day for F1 or the Indy 500. There are so many way to get there I can't see how it could get too clogged up compared to a few hundred thousand people converging on the track on race day. But then again... It looks like I will be leaving very early tommorrow from Cincinnati.
The schedule for the second annual United States Grand Prix pit walkabout is set, and IMS officials are eager to welcome fans for one of the most popular, fan-friendly events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The pit walkabout is open to all 2004 USGP Race Day ticket holders and will take place from 8 a.m.-noon (EST, local time) on Thursday, June 17. This is one of the few fan pit walkabouts available on the 18-event, global F1 schedule in 2004.
United States Grand Prix ticket holders must display their race ticket for admission to the walkabout. No separate walkabout passes will be issued.
The IMS ticket office will be open at 7 a.m. Thursday for fans interested in purchasing race tickets and gaining access to the walkabout. The ticket office’s hours on track activity days are
