I'm broke because I have a small child that I wouldnt trade for anything but maybe a competition coupe, but people are going to want to know if those HP figures are at the wheels or are estimated crank HP numbers.
Don't take this the wrong way, but that a 50K car... sorry... plus it take a special person to want silver and blue. Lower the price and it has a shot.
I like silver and blue, but it's not a standard red, black, white. Odd ball colors are just harder to sell. If that was solid black he would have his phone ringing.
Yeah your right. Last time I posted it the same thing happened.
Here is the run down.
the 521 is flywheel HP.
It spun the dyno rollers to 443.7 hp and 484.8 ft/lb tq
I used a 15% drivetrain loss to come to the 521 flywheel HP actually (522 hp)
At gainsville raceway I went 11.90 @ 122 mph on wore out 335 michelin pilot sports
O.k., we all know dyno's can be fickle, but I will say that the 122 trap speed is pretty stout. However, I cannot believe that the simple addition of a VEC-1 gives 521 crank hp. First of all, 15% is a little generous on the driveline loss, but if the dyno is tweaked, then the number is meaningless, anyway. What we can look to is the 122 trap speed, since I would trust a trap speed more than any dyno.
Using the formula of hp = weight[(Trap Speed/234)^3], and assuming a curb weight of about 3400, I get an hp number of 481.
I don't have trap speeds but a 15% loss on mine works out to 525 flywheel HP.
Admittedly, Sean said it was the biggest gain he's ever seen off a VEC1.
The only other mods were smooth tubes, no muffler, and probably-irrelevant brand-new 10mm MGW wires and Bosch Platinum+4 plugs.
Did you read my post? Simple addition of a VEC-1? I have more mods than just that.
...and next you need to redo your math. First off all you have the curb weight wrong and secondly last time I checked a car can't make it down the track by itself. It needs a driver so you have to add that weight in as well.
The curb weight of a viper is closer to 3480lbs. Now add the driver (me) 180 lbs = 3660lbs
Now take that number and recalculate your little formula and you get:
hp = weight[(Trap Speed/234)^3] 518.69 hp
...and for your fourth mistake, your statement "First of all, 15% is a little generous on the driveline loss" so your saying the driveline loss is more than 15%.
Well factoring more than a 15% loss would RAISE the flywheel horsepower and your saying mine is already too high.
For example:
1.) with a 15% loss 443.7/.85= 522 hp
2.) with a 18% loss 443.7/.82= 541 hp
i think i saw that car at macedos shop before the stripes. i dont remember it being an acr either but it could have just been another pristine silver gts with those wheels on it in orlando
You really should get your facts straight before you go running off at the mouth... IT MAKES YOU LOOK STUPID.
I bought the car used. Some guy traded it in to a Honda dealer
in Delray Beach. We'll the stupid sales manager didn't know how
to open the hood so he was pulling up with all his might on the NACA
duct and broke it. I bought the car as is and had to buy a new NACA
duct. they don't come painted and I had it on the car for a while
before I painted.
Here is my VIN so you can check to see that
it is an ACR... Ignorant DickHead
VIN: 1B3ER69E5XV503969
and for you "tbaggn" my car has never been a Larry's shop. [color:"red"] [/color]
Well if he was talking about the front fascia then he is dumber
than I thought becasue you can clearly see the stripes.
But I'm sure he was talking about the NACA Duct, its just that he is to
stupid to know the proper names for the parts of a car he owns himself, so
he calls it the "air inlet"
