Hey, WTF is wrong with you nerds. You need every advantage you can get when you go racing Horse Trailers (first photo). I think the Backwoods backround, says it all, probably cone races on weekends or drag races on a gravel road. I know some Pro's that don't use that many gauges. Maybe his dad owns Autometer.

Re: silly ricers, err, Mustang drivers...
Why do you need a 10K tach when the motor poops out at 4500?

Re: silly ricers, err, Mustang drivers...
Hey come on, if you got bad news from a doc, you'd get a second opinion, right.
In the above mentioned gravel road drags...
TACH1 blinking shift light...
Hmm maybe I should shift, don't know, check TACH2 for verification.
535 RPM discrepancy, what should I do, is TACH1 messed up?
BAM, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK...
Horse trailer wins.

Probably for the same reason as ricers needing z rated tires when they are lucky if they break triple digit speeds.

Re: silly ricers, err, Mustang drivers...
Actually, that is a Cobra, which makes peak Hp @ 6000, but pulls strongly to the 7000 RPM fuel shutoff. Of course, it could be modded beyond the moonglow gauges, and make a little more power beyond 6200. He does'nt "need" the extra tach, but his buddy had one so he had to have one
