June 25th with www.speedventures.net this is a rare opportunity to run 2/3s of the oval and the infield roadcourse. This is by far the most fun I ever had at a track, I hit the first bank turn at close to 155 mph and your puckering, as you come out of the bank and are heading straight you gotta brake hard (to like 50-60) for a quick 90 degree left followed by a quick 90 degree right followed by like 14 more turns before you get back on the speedway, lotsa fun
Track map at www.californiaspeedway.com go to "Maps" then to "auto competition course map" it'll give ya the 2.8 mile layout.
I was reading that open track days were big in Europe and were going to be the next big thing here but at those prices it's hard to see it happening. Ever see that vid of a Nurburgring open track day? Bikes running with cars and lots of bumper to bumper traffic. Crazy shit, I wonder if it cost them an arm and a leg.
That will make for some very heavy G-loading thru the 1-2 highbanks. Start with higher pressures on the right side, then air down gradually while checking temps and wear patterns. If you push too hard on cold tires with low pressures, you run the risk of getting the rim onto the pavement and eating the wall.
Not good.
SCCA used to run NASCAR 3&4 at TWS. R-1s were the hot tire in those days and everyone was trying to see how low they could run the pressures in search of grip. A couple of guys unseated the beads and had some bad crashes. They don't run the banks anymore.

Last year I heard Daytona was $25K for a single weekend day.
