Second suspension: 5 days for making repeated threats.
I'll be honest, this may be a permanent thing, too. As many of you know I was the person who requested several polls to bring Tony back to the Alley after he was banned early on. During his banning period Tony and I spoke several times and he gave me his word that when he came back things would be different. Time and time again I've butted heads with Tony over his remarks and we always get back to a promise to behave.
For too long we've given Tony more slack than any other member because we brush it off as Tony being Tony. In fact, we've seen his activities encouraged at time. The problem is, Tony has run off more than a few members with his threats, taunts and sexist remarks and that's unacceptable.
ViperAlley is a community and if you can't adhere to some simple guidelines, then you really would be better off on an unmoderated site. This isn't about some minor infractions, we're talking a pattern of behavior which are simply unacceptable.
It's regrettable that we need to address this problem repeatedly and I, for one, am tired of having to spend so much energy trying to keep Tony in check.

Gerald, before you start yet another conspiracy theory and start forming another witch hunt in that little brain of yours, let me set something straight. This decision was made wtihout the "anti-badvenom" moderators vote. I asked to be kept out of it plain and simple. KingGTS called me this morning regaring this issue and I told him the same thing. I wanted to stay out of it. The other moderators debated about this at length and I guess this was their decision. But after my latest war with yotony, I wasnt going to rock the boat again. You can put your ignorance to bed now.
Actually, this suspension is 100% me. There was a discussion, but I made the call. If Tony has a problem with anyone, it's with me. He and I had an understanding and he's not living up to his end. I take full responsibility for Tony's actions here - he was banned by the members and after one failed unban attempt, I made a second with the assurances that Tony would behave to convince people to let him back in.
If you got a problem with that, Gerald, you know where the door is.
As a member who has had his fair share of ugly discourse with Tony, I fully support this decision and furthermore believe it to be for the overall good of the Alley. I can only speak for myself but I know my participation on the Alley has been reduced because of Tony. I doubt if I'm the only one.
I also believe that when this decision was made, the mods and particularly packetjunkie knew it was going to result in criticism. I applaud the board administration and the mods for doing what they felt was the right thing for the Alley knowing they would be criticized.

i have an honest question for you. why do you feel that the alley is always up to something? you think that there are a select few people that are on radar, and after their "first" mistake, they are banned. i know, you dont like Smokin, but with personal feelings aside i just cant see how you can draw that conclusion. not flaming, or attempting to put you on the spot, i am just curious b/c i see posts like this 100% of the time that a thread of this nature transpires....
SJT97, you got rid of your CLK for a C32? NIIIICE. Arent they coming out with a C55 next year? its rumored to be just as fast as the E55, not supercharged but substantially lighter.

When that one person owns the site, Yes! Even with all the voting policies and members having their say, this place is still packetjunkie's site and he has the final say in everything. So yes, this place is a dictatorship, deal with it.
EDIT - Okay so MP doesnt techincally own the site, but he does have the right to decide when someone has crossed the line. I support his decision.
Actually, everything done so far is in accordance with the rules - suspensions can be done by one person and overruled by the majority of mods (which they can do). As for the banning portion, nothing has been decided, but I'm not sure I see any alternative.
