is insane! I mean forget about the price (even a matinee), but the cost of a soda and popcorn?! $10 bucks for one of each?! And for that I get about 20 cents worth of soda (no refills) and not much more value in popcorn.
I used to manage a theater and yes it sucks a good one. Prices stink. I always go to dinner before the movies. Just bring in your own food, most of the times they won't say anything.
We sneaked in some candy, but the kids wanted a drink and popcorn... I know I've spent $40+ at the consession stand before - this time I rationed out the soda!
I'm currently in CT. They have a $5 day here every Tuesday. 2 of us get in and share a large coke and a small popcorn for a total of $17.50. I guess thats not too bad.
I refuse to see a movie at night and pay the normal costs. Its insane! Fucking movie stars insane salaries. Sports stars and movie stars are screwing us all over. Sad thing is...we keep going no matter what the cost is.
I saw somewhere that movie popcorn was the almost the most expensive food per ounce that you could buy. I think it was second only to truffles or something. Reee-fucking-diculous!
Before they closed 'em all down me & the g/f used to love to go to the drive-in. $5.00 each for a double feature back the Jeep into the spot. open the hatch, bring some pillows & blankets, we'd bring the dog, a cooler full of whatever and all the munchies, what a great time It's sad just about every drive-in in Kali has been closed for swap meets
There’s a place here in town called "$1 Movies" and you guessed it, its only one dollar per person. The only catch is the movies are not new releases. They are about 3-4 months behind the box office. Sometimes they get new movies that are already on DVD. Concession prices are still in the astronomical range, but hey if you've got good self discipline you can catch something you missed during its initial run in the theatre for only 2 bucks for you and your ball and chain. Let’s face it, nothing beats the big screen!

Sneak? HAHAHA, I have walked in with a large Dominos pizza, they have never said anything to me. Someone once told me if they dont sell it you can bring it in, another guy told me you can bring in whatever you want period.
Now you are bitching about prices, try paying 13 bux to park at the theater, then 10 to get in.
It cheaper to build a home theater.....the cell phones, crying kids, people that are talking, people getting up and blocking your view, ruining your clothes cause some A-hole spilled coke on your seat.....
