Players begin with just $40,000 in Kerryopoly money, the average national household income. "After a few trips around the board, most players will be millions of dollars in debt, proving that John Kerry's lifestyle is out of reach and out of sync with most Americans," RNC communications director Jim Dyke said in a statement.

Three leading Republicans in the federal government — President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee — are multimillionaires. Asked Tuesday if their lifestyles also were out of reach of most Americans, RNC spokeswoman Christine Iverson responded "no" but declined to elaborate.

Apparently a Texas ranch and a professional ball team are within reach of "most Americans" who make $40,000.

Kerryopoly is amusing, albeit clearly "unfair" in the sense that -- as already pointed out -- the GOP folks aren't exactly poor either.

I do give the GOP the points on this issue though. I respect "hey, we're rich, f-you, get over it -- and maybe someday you'll be rich too" a lot more than the sanctimony of Kerry and the rest of the Dems on the wealth issue.

The Boston Herald is reporting that his bicycle cost $7,000.00, not $5,000.00. And somehow, he got the Beacon Hill mansion to be overvalued at 12 million so he could take out a 6 million dollar loan on it.
