I wanna see smokin go talk smack on the bently forums. That would be tits!
Yeah that would be funny. His biggest ammo, "I'm richer than you are so I am right you minimum wage, burger flipping, dolt" wouldn't really work over there though, not that it does here either.
Smokin get the Bentley. The GT would be just like owning an expensive Viper. But a Bentley, incredible ride, almost untouchable in the panache, and it has a back seat, you can put that to use.
I ordered the bentley almost 8 months ago before they had a whole lot of press photos on the car. The dealerships only had snipits of information, but it sounded like a beast at the time. After seeing one in person, Im not too sure anyways. Figured it doesnt hurt to see what it looks like in person.
I don't care what they did with the suspension; with all that weight I can't see how it could be anything but a straight-line tank. Albeit a very nice tank, of course.
As for talking smack on the Bentley forums, I'm pretty sure once have a Bentley, you're expected to have people who take care of that on your behalf.
It reminds me of the Range Rover. They don't build it down to a price they build it up. Money is no object, only the finest materials are used and then whatever it costs they put the price at that. Bentleys have incredible interiors. They have to be the most comfortable car available and they are still very fast. It's your decision. Get what you want. I can't recommend a Maybach though. Only really wealthy people will know what it is. I think Mercedes f'd that up. Kinda like VW building a 70k$ Phaeton; those have got to flying out the door. If you can afford a 70k$ car what would you be doing at a VW dealer to begin with?

What the hell is that supposed to mean. At the bookstore I see Armani guy and Knee Draggin Ass hanging baggy pants pierced guy in the Domino's delivery shirt Reading the same Mags. page 46 Maybach, Page 64 all out shit box comparo. It's a fucking car not the NSA's newest Osama Decoder ring.

I don't know what only wealthy people knowing what a Maybach has to do with if it would be a good car to own. It will end up in rap videos soon enough though.
As for the VW statement, most of us here went to a dodge dealer with more than 70k in hand to buy a car.
It means people will have no idea who actually built the car. You'll always have to go to the "it's a Mercedes." Why didn't they just keep it in house? The only dealers I have seen are set up inside or right next to a Mercedes dealer. You can see all the people you want reading all the car magazines in the world. When it comes down the general population and the issue of respect it won't acquire it the same way a Bentley does for years to come. People that don't read car magazines, the general population, won't know what it is. The punk rocker standing next to you for the most part isn't going to stop and read the maybach article he is going right to the suped up econobox article. It's going to take time for them to establish the brand. If they fail the cars will depreciate, it just makes it a higher risk proposition. For the moment out here in Seattle it doesn't seem to have much momentum. Did you buy one and I hit some nerve?

I guess our punk rockers are not Seattle caliber fuck sticks. They all know what your Black Op car is. And a big Kudos to you for having figured it out to.

So? It doesn't make the car less comfortable.
I get stupid questions about the viper all the time.
Do you buy cars for yourself or so other people think a certain way about you?
Never said the car wasn't comfortable. I've never been in one.
I buy my cars for me. See all the smack I take for owning Volvos on this board! Lord Forbid I actually post up pictures of my 1956 Series 1 LandRover! However this thread was about a car for Smokin. So the angle would be does Smokin buy cars for himslef or so other people think a certain way about him?
Yeah we bought 70k$ Dodges. What else can compete with them? Where as VW entered into a part of the market segment they aren't usually in. Would you buy a $70k Phaeton over what is available at the Mercedes and BMW stores, add Lexus, Infiniti, Volvo, Audi, even Saab? Much like the Phaeton, if the Maybach fails how fast and hard will the depreciation cycle be? I just wouldn't recommend it yet.

Old Landrovers kick ass.

Hahaa, yeah, I forgot. Smokin needs a car that poor people can look at and know it is expensive.
