What were your first Three computers... In order.
Helping mom clean out the basement I found myself eying the old teletype machine and remember when it was working. Dad was a Ham radio guy. And he worked intel in the Navy. Helped design the early encryption code breaking systems and such. He started a computer comapny back in the early 70s.
First system was a Centurian with seperate head units.
Second was a home built "Heath Kit" system.
And third was a TRS-80 (radio shack)

I liked those computers with the turbo buttons. What the hell was the point? Would there ever be a time you didn't want your computer to be fast?

Re: What were your first Three computers... In order.
Craig,
The turbo button was for if you had a game or somesuch that was dependant on clock speed. Back in the day, there were no framerates... the game ran at a certain number of frames, and they came thru as fast as your processor could serve them up. If your computer was too fast, the game would run too quickly for you to play it, thus the need to throttle down the clock speed.

Re: What were your first Three computers... In order.
When I first attended the University of Kentucky I can remember my proffesor arguing that there was no need for the average person to have a 486.
After all, a 486 could run an entire city.
