Do SVS and the good family name a favor and take Jr. over your knee and paddle his ass, take away his computer and tell him to get his ass back in the shop and get some cars DONE. You're not paying him to sit on the computer all day! He's doing far more harm than good and it's diminishing what you've accomplished so far. Uhhhhh thats what I'm doing right now. Took this 5 minutes ago. Completed in about 2 weeks. Set up to do some road course track testing. Finishing all the parameters and going to start tuning. The base map needs to be tweaked and then going on the mustang dyno. SC with low boost. I will put up more info as we gain information.

You were at 14.3 and want it to be toggling between rich and lean on each side of 14.7. Oh I'm sure you knew that. But you also probably knew you don't want to sit and tune idle issues with a car sitting and heat soaking either. You want to do it immediately after driving it, which matches real world conditions. Never mind, you probably knew that too.

Other asumptions are that it might be an anal probe so you know when your ass is about to blister so you know when to stop. Hey, I could be wrong though. "Cause I don't know shit!"
Regarding the SVS blower issue. I still feel Turbo's are better than blowers so I never quite understood SVS stepping backwards to SC. But with Turbo sales where they were it's understandable. I was truly anxious to see what it would run in the mile. The SC stayed on just fine, however the belt didn't quite stay on the car, which regardless of what a car runs on the dyno, it does need to perform in the real world.
Regarding your MR2. I wasn't refering to your MR2 numbers. I'm refering to the Viper dyno numbers with the stupid rich 11:1 AF ratios and corresponding dips in HP and torque. Is that your expert tuning?
Hell, It's a shame you dumped the MR2. I was tuning those in the freakin 80's and 90's. Love the car, just a real bitch to get any sunstantial air to the intercooler. Hell, I even owned a Celica All-Trac Turbo with the 3SGTE.

Now lets do this... WHY would someone want a gauge to read a parameter that the vehicle's EMS logs? Why do you put a boost gauge in a car? For the same reason... if your driving down the road, racing down the highway... whatever... who wants to have to bust out the laptop just to check on basic shit? Thats all... sometimes you just want to have that live readout sitting there for you to look at when you feel like looking at it. I mean shit, come on man, you must know they are experimenting with a unique charge cooler. Of course they are going to want a gauge for that.
As for why the air intake temp was that high? I am not sure. I incorrectly made the assumption that they were in the cold start cycle when that video was recorded... That was the first time the car ran, and it had been sitting there heat soaking for some time. As for why its so high at that exact moment? Take some guesses... perhaps the air/water intercooler pump was not on, perhaps something was momentarily not setup correctly with their peltier (sp?) chip setup. Either way... who gives a fuck... and why do you? You honestly think they would have cars making the power they do with intake temps that high under normal conditions? Of course not. Let them worry about it. The car JUST RAN that moment. Nothing is 100% done when you first turn the key... you should know that. So how about just relaxing, letting them do their thing, and minding your own fuckin business? They didnt post that video to advertise their current intake temps... they posted it just to show what they are currently playing with.
Knowing all of this, can you relax and let go of the gauge and what it was reading during that short video clip?
Blower issue? I can see where you are coming from.. you would have looked much less guilty of being a SVS hater if you would have said "The same kind of idiot that uses a SC rather then turbos for their boost needs". But thats not what you said, what you said sounded as an indirect attack at the way SVS does things. Better communication skills could have prevented this misunderstood bias. Thanks for clearing that up. SVS obviously prefers turbos over superchargers... since this is what their own shop car runs. However, their business is a business like any other... you have to give the customer what they want as long as you can both meet terms on the setup.
No its not my expert turning on any of the SVS Vipers. I do not work for or with SVS. The SVS customer projects are of such extreme magnitude, that I honestly do not have the balls to be held responsible for the tuning on those machines.
An 11:1 A/F ratio may be richer then required... but you know as well as I do that some people prefer to have that margin of safty in the tuning. You cannot tune a car for every single situation the world can provide. You can only tune for the situation you have the car in while its under your wing and being tuned. Once its leaves... who the fuck knows the owner is going to do. If the car is already making more power then it can put to the ground below 100mph... then why not leave that safty margin in there... fuck the extra 20-30rwhp... wouldnt you rather have that little extra guarentee that your not going to melt a piston? I know I would. Stop attacking other peoples methods... your way is not the only way.
From what you say, you seem to know about Toyotas. Everyone knows they are essentially the most robust and reliable vehicles for the money. I am sure you have seen what type of A/F ratio those cars run from the factory under airflow levels above stock... or no wait, you havent. No one has... cause you cant. They run rich off the scale of any wideband O2 sensor. 11:1 is right in the prime middle of safty vs power. If you were the owner of the car, and you asked SVS to tune your car to a leaner A/F target, wherever yours may be, do you honestly think that they wouldnt do it? Of course they would. But not everyone cares about making that LAST TINY BIT of HP. Some people would like extra reassurance that the engine will not have to be torn down soon.
Dont worry about what happened with the belt at the standing mile. I know for a fact they fixed the problem before sending the car back to the customer... and thats what matters. Hell, who gives a shit what any tuner does wrong in the process of research and development... its what they give back to the customer that matters. I own a shop, and I have blown customers motors before. Know what I did? I fixed the problem, which was MY PROBLEM, and send them back a car that never blew up on them. I would expect the same of any quality tuner. If I contracted someone else to build me a car, I honestly do not give a shit if they blew my motor 7 times before they got it right, as long as it was right when I got it back. So for real... relax about the belt... I seem to recall a time I was standing at a race track in Byron when the owner of a very well known supercharged Viper complained about a belt issue with his NON-SVS blower system. Did anyone talk shit? No, cause its not our place, and its not our problem. Maybe you should practice this level of privacy.
I dumped the MR2 to allow more time and money for my other cars... a fully built twin turbo 350z that has not started up yet, and my Honda civic street car which has so far put down 415fwhp on low boost pump gas. The MR2 is a shame, as it was a way cooler car then these two... but you gotta do what you gotta do.

All the things I say in this post... if you have the experience you claim (and i honestly do beleive you)... then, you didn't need to read these things, you should have already known them.
