ok, i know many of you have shipped your car to get transformed, well the time for me is just around the corner, and i need some advice. i have narrowed my choice of tuners to RSI or Heffner, it is just a matter of talking to each in more detail that i make my final decision. if i go with RSI i will probably just drive it there myself, and save the money, but if i go to heffner's i will need to ship it. any suggestions, no smokin not you .......
are you lookin to get blown or stroked? (actually a serious question)
i think once you make the decision of whether you want to go F.I. or N/A, you will have your tuner. good luck and keep us posted. :thumb:
weez, you are exactly right! that is what my decision is coming down to....i dont want near the hp smokin has, that is for sure, so we will see....but i will be deciding very soon, as in i hope to have my car ready to ship by mid april...
i have no experience with them, but they look alot better than the other sites i looked at. here's a site that will give you a quote http://www.movingorbit.com/
i'm just tossing out suggestions, i've never moved in anything other than a UHAUL.
It is a matter how you want to make power.
RSI's heads/cam 650 packages are making around 570 RWHP/570+ RWTQ. Very nice. That is a little bit more than I made on motor. Their stroker motor package made 670RWHP - motor only and is just as streetable as my car.
The superchargers are making more power and seem to be very
streetable. I have no personal experience with them though but plan to spend some time combing over Smokes once he moves to Houston. At the track, no supercharged car has run a 9 sec quarter. The RSI stroker motor car (driven/owned by SW of course)holds the record for quarter mile on motor only and is knocking on 9's. It will happen.
S/C and Turbo cars seem to make MAD power (great for dyno days)but have trouble laying down a number.
My advice is to hold off till you check out Smoke's ride and be at the Viper/Vette/Poopra shootout in San Antonio on Sunday, March 30th to experience the RSI Stroker Motor monster for your self. That way, you can make an informed decision that you will not as likely regret.
MY .02
Well, as far as tuner choice, you know where I stand . But for car transportation, I dont think Exotic goes to MD (they wouldnt ship my car there). I would use Intercity Lines. From what Ive read, they have great service. Many people use them. Thats whos shipping my car back from Heffners to Houston. Although all the details on my car will be finally wrapped up in the next week, Ive asked Jason Heffner to store my car for about 30 days until I am moved into my place in Houston on the first week of April (so I have a safe place to park it. Also its senseless to ship it to california only to turn around and ship it to Houston).
