Yup, I know about a dozen guys with this car one of them a close friend. Viper owner John Morris is the westcoast distributer. The car is fast, even the base model (1,200 cc) it goes up to a s/c 1,500 cc model that puts out 300 HP in a 1,200 lb. car. The car handles like it's on rails and has lotsa downforce. All that being said I've hung with these owners on the track often and they seem to always be wrenching on their cars, one thing after another seems to go wrong but they are a fairly simple car to work on.
Yep, those are awesome. But to be honest, at $40,000 (give or take), I bet you could purchase one of those open wheel Mazda Formula cars with the rotary engine. Yeah, that's the ticket....
The radicals are cool, no doubt. Look at the OTC standings from last year to see laptimes - it was quite the contest between the radicals and the PMUM comp coupe.
If I was going to buy a racecar though, I'd want something I could compete in more races with.
The Radicals are now about $65K when you factor in shipping from the UK and the fact that the dollar is so freaking weak compared to the British Pound. However, after driving one I would say that they are the closest thing to a Formula 1 car that I've ever driven. They are ablast to drive but canbe a pain in the a$$ to maintain.
