I love this guy.... One of our NWS geeks in San Angelo. Nobody is perfect and this is especially true when trying to forecast wx.
I read their discussions all the time (especially if we have decent POPS). I admit that I don't always understand everything (GOES, etc.), but it rarely makes me chuckle. This guy does make me chuckle though. Ya gotta love a NWS guy that has a sense of humor!

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN ANGELO TX
307 AM CDT MON APR 5 2004
.SHORT TERM...WELL LICKING MY WOUNDS THANKS TO UNEXPECTED
THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX THAT MOVED ACROSS SOUTH TEXAS YESTERDAY AND IS
STILL ONGOING. FEATURE KILLED THE LOW LEVEL MOISTURE FEED FROM THE
GULF. SAID FEATURE SHOULD GRADUALLY WEAKEN AND MOVE FAR ENOUGH AWAY
TO ALLOW 50 TO 60 DEW POINTS TO SURGE BACK INTO THE AREA LATER THIS
MORNING AND THIS AFTERNOON. UPPER LEVEL LOW THAT HAS BEEN PARKED
OVER SOUTHERN ARIZONA PAST SEVERAL DAYS SHOULD BEGIN TO FEEL THE
INFLUENCE OF UP STREAM KICKER AND BEGIN TO MOVE TOWARDS THE AREA
LATER TODAY. THIS WILL PUT THE AREA IN EVEN MORE FAVORABLE PATTERN
FOR HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO FORM OVER THE WESTERN
PORTIONS OF THE FORECAST AREA TODAY AND TRANSLATE SLOWLY EAST
OVERNIGHT. GIVEN THAT THE PATTERN IS EVEN MORE FAVORABLE TODAY FOR
HEAVY RAINS THAN YESTERDAY AND INFLUENCE OF SOUTH TEXAS COMPLEX
SHOULD BE EASING...WILL RE-ISSUE THE FFA FOR THIS AFTERNOON INTO
TONIGHT FOR THE ENTIRE FORECAST AREA. DRYLINE MOVES INTO THE
WESTERN COUNTIES TUESDAY...AHEAD OF THIS FEATURE SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE SOME OF WHICH COULD BE STRONG TO
SEVERE FFA MY HAVE TO BE EXTENDED OVER THE EASTERN COUNTIES WITH
LATTER FORECAST. SEVERE POTENTIAL THIS AFTERNOON WILL HINGE MAINLY
ON HOW MUCH RECOVERY WE CAN MAKE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES FOR
INSTABILITY. SHEAR PROFILES LOOK GOOD AND WITH STEEP LAPSE RATES
MOVING IN...WILL INCLUDE MENTION OF SOME SEVERE STORMS.
WILL NEED TO CARRY OVER SOME POPS INTO TUESDAY NIGHT ACROSS THE BIG
COUNTRY AS THIS AREA REMAINS NEAR THE COLD POOL FROM UPPER LOW
on the very very bottom of that it should say a last name something like
Edwards/Umscheid or something that will tell ya who wrote it. I'll have to look it up.
There was one not to long ago where a guy did a really really funny one as a test instead of saying test test test.. He got in DEEP SHIT for doing it though.
His (or her) name is BRAZZELL. I love reading his stuff because he acts like laymen are reading his discussions. It's not at all uncommon for him to make these kinds of statements.
on the rare occassion weather nerds have a sense of humor. If you read up on stormtrack you would understand exactly what I meant by that. We had a April fools joke turned into a 3 page fight over it being acceptable standards idiots
Well, my humble opinion is that if they are disseminating info to the masses and not just AMS certified people, it SHOULD be more readable. No knock knock jokes maybe but a little humor and humility goes a long way. Those folks do an incredible job. I rarely watch the local TV wx-people anymore except when there are tornadoes in the area. I find that they like to throw their own predictions in and I know who I believe. Plus, the NWS Rain Totals images are extremely accurate and I use that religiously for our farm operations.
